The Institute of Law welcomes a new Director, Chief Executive

Professor Janine Griffiths-BakerI am pleased to let you know that Professor Janine Griffiths-Baker has been appointed as Director and Chief Executive of the Institute.

Professor Griffiths-Baker has a distinguished career as an academic leader, most recently as Dean of Nottingham Law School, at Nottingham Trent University, one of the largest law schools in Europe.

She takes up the appointment from today/ Monday April 6. She will initially remain in the UK and work remotely because of the CoVid-19 travel restrictions in place, and then relocate to the island as soon as practical.

I am delighted that we have been able to secure someone with the standing and expertise that Janine will bring to the Institute. She will help us further develop and grow the Institute,  which is excellent news for us all.

The Board is confident the Institute will go from strength to strength under Professor Griffiths-Baker’s leadership.

The Board wishes to thank her predecessor Dr Marrani for his substantial contribution to the Institute and wishes him well in his future career.

Stephen Baker

Chairman of the Board of Governors
