The Institute of Law was founded to provide a focus for academic study and professional education in Jersey and Guernsey law and to nurture the legal heritage of the Channel Islands. Certificate of Higher Education

Certificate of Higher Education
This course is perfect for you if you have been out of the education system for a while and want to get on Higher Education ladder. The course can be studied full time or part-time and consists of the same four modules as the LLB.

Jersey Law Course

Jersey Law Course
This is the course you need to take if you want to practice as an advocate or solicitor in Jersey. The course consists of 6 core modules and you have the choice to pick one of three options.

Master’s Degree

Master’s Degree
The Master's in Jersey Law (LLM in Jersey Law) is a degree conferred by the Institute of Law Jersey. This course will allow those who have an LLB Bachelor's degree in Law, or equivalent, or those practising Advocates who have passed the Jersey Law Course to take the next step to a Master's degree.

The Institute of Law is also the home of the only law library in Jersey. Our book collation includes hundreds of vintage law book dating back to the 16th century.

The Institute organises Continuous Professional Development events as well as events aimed at students. You can hire one of our rooms to hold your own event or advertise a law related event.
