Covid Updates

Inline with the Government of Jersey’s guidance issued on 15 September, we’re encouraging students to –

  • Get your vaccinations when eligible
  • stay alert for COVID symptoms. Stay at home and book a PCR test if you become unwell
  • If you test positive, stay at home for at least five days and until you have been symptom free for 48 hours
  • order a supply of free Lateral Flow Tests.

When you’re at the Institute of Law, please also:

  • Use the hand gel, which is available in all rooms, the library, office desks, entrance to classrooms and the toilets. Please use this regularly and when entering and exiting the classrooms
  • Use disinfectant wipes, which are available in all rooms, the library, office desks, entrance to classrooms and the toilets (please close the lids tightly to ensure they don’t dry out). Please clean (sanitize) each chair, desk, keyboard, mouse, telephone, headset etc each day before / after use
  • We’ve adopted a ‘clear desk’ policy. Please tidy your work area at the end of the day to allow for enhanced cleaning
  • If you feel unwell with symptoms of COVID whilst in a lecture, tutorial, or meeting, please advise your lecturer or a member of the Institute team

We greatly value teaching in person and had expected to continue to teach face to face for those students and teachers who prefer to come into the Institute. However, we have taken the decision to move all teaching at the Institute entirely online, with immediate effect.

Online teaching will continue from today until Friday 21 January 2022.

Face to face lessons are expected to begin again from Saturday 22 January 2022.

To attend classes at the Institute of Law, please follow to following protocols:

  • Please carry out lateral flow testing (LFT) regularly. It’s a good idea for all islanders of nursery age and above to test at least twice a week
  • If you have symptoms of Covidplease stay at home and book get a PCR test– information on what to do regarding isolation and testing is available here
  • If you test positive for Covid, do not attend any classes and let us know immediately by email at administration@lawinstitute.ac.je
  • If you have not had a vaccine or need a vaccine booster, please review the public health information on je. If you’d like any help with booking a vaccine appointment, or finding the vaccination centre, speak to Sarah or Lisa or email administration@lawinstitute.ac.je

Travelling to Jersey 

From Monday, 7 February all requirements under the Safer Travel Policy have been suspended.
