12/01/2022

We greatly value teaching in person and had expected to continue to teach face to face for those students and teachers who prefer to come into the Institute. However, we have taken the decision to move all teaching at the Institute entirely online, with immediate effect.

Online teaching will continue from today until Friday 21 January 2022.

Face to face lessons are expected to begin again from Saturday 22 January 2022.

If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact Sarah or Lisa by email administration@lawinstitute.ac.je

General Guidance

To attend classes at the Institute of Law, please follow the following protocols:

  • Please carry out regular lateral flow testing (LFT) on the day you’re attending. Here’s all the information including how to register, how to take the test and how to submit your results
  • If you are a direct contact of anyone who has tested positive for Covid, especially if someone is positive in your household, please contact us before attending on administration@lawinstitute.ac.je
  • If you have symptoms of Covid please get a PCR test and isolate as per the Government’s instructions – information on what to do regarding isolation and testing is available here
  • If you test positive for Covid, do not attend any classes and let us know immediately by email at administration@lawinstitute.ac.je
  • If you have not had a vaccine or need a vaccine booster, please review the public health information on gov.je.  If you’d like any help with booking a vaccine appointment, or finding the vaccination centre, speak to Sarah or Lisa or email administration@lawinstitute.ac.je

When you’re at the Institute of Law, please also:

  • Wear masks in all areas, including in classrooms, and when moving around in corridors and communal areas (if you forget your mask, we have a supply available in the office)
  • Use the hand gel, which is made available in all rooms, the library, office desks, entrance to classrooms and the toilets. Please use this regularly and when entering and exiting the classrooms
  • Use disinfectant wipes, which are also available in all rooms, the library, office desks, entrance to classrooms and the toilets (please close the lids tightly to ensure they don’t dry out). Please clean (sanitize) each chair, desk, keyboard, mouse, telephone, headset etc each day before / after use
  • We’ve adopted a ‘clear desk’ policy. Please tidy your work area at the end of the day to allow for enhanced cleaning
  • If you feel unwell with symptoms of COVID whilst in a lecture, tutorial or meeting, please advise your lecturer or a member of the Institute team. You should then leave the Institute, carry out a home LFT, isolate immediately, and book a PCR test online or call the helpline (0800 735 5566 or coronavirushelpline@gov.je)

You can also keep up to date with any future announcements at gov.je.
